BuidlerDAO Whitepaper Revision V2.0: Community Feedback Request

# 关于 BuidlerDAO 新一轮(V2.0)白皮书修订意见征集

I. Background

BuidlerDAO has always been committed to decentralization and aims to create an open talent community, providing opportunities for individuals and projects to collaborate. We hope to foster connections between talented individuals, facilitate mutually beneficial collaborations, and spark innovative projects on this open platform.

Since the official release of our whitepaper in July 2023, the BuidlerDAO community has launched two rounds of Guardians elections. Under the leadership of five guild heads, community members have been driving daily operations through flexible, agile teams. After nearly a year of exploration and practice, the community forum has seen over 30 governance discussion posts, 30 governance proposals and votes on Snapshot, and active contributions from more than 150 community members, with over 300 $BRP holders.

Additionally, the BRP Reputation System was officially launched in early August this year, marking a new phase in BuidlerDAO’s community governance. This system enables contributors to receive rewards for their efforts. In the first phase, 46 community contributors participated, with community members collectively receiving 10,131.11 USDT and minting 19,593.8 $pBRP tokens (77% of the total $BRP).

At the end of the S2 quarter, to further enhance the DAO’s governance, operational capacity, and efficiency, the Operations Guild invited the community to submit suggestions for upgrading governance rules and other related topics.

II. Community Governance and Operations Feedback Request

We deeply appreciate the strong support for community operations and governance during the S2 quarter. The Operations Guild has received valuable feedback from many community members and industry peers, providing useful insights for the ongoing iteration of our governance and operational models. Each valid submission will be rewarded with $BRP.

We recognize that there may still be unresolved issues related to governance methods and operational rules that you encounter in your daily work. We welcome you to participate in this focused discussion to highlight any operational shortcomings and provide your valuable suggestions. To help structure your thoughts, please consider the following example questions and suggestion formats:

Example Questions:

  1. Contribution Process: Have you encountered any challenges or frustrations with the contribution process?
  2. Community Meetings and Events: What improvements would you suggest for the format of community meetings and events?
  3. Rules and Whitepaper: Are there any unclear areas in the community rules or whitepaper? (If so, please specify the exact sections)
  4. Workgroups and Rewards: Do you have any suggestions or expectations regarding the community’s workgroups and the corresponding $BRP rewards?
  5. Others

III. Timeline

The feedback collection will begin on August 13, 2024, and last for two weeks. An open discussion on the proposed revisions will take place during the Governor meeting on the evening of August 27. The discussion will cover topics such as whitepaper revisions and the iteration of governance and operational models. After the meeting, the Operations Guild will collaborate with the Governors to consolidate the feedback and draft a whitepaper iteration proposal.

The tasks provided by the Guild are few and unstable, without regular contribution activities to steadily earn $BRP.

Suggestion: Can members take the initiative to lead and propose the formation of activity groups, such as the on-chain research group organized by @Story? The problem is, who will formulate the reward rules within the group, who will oversee them, and how can transparency be ensured.

Modify Grant calculation formula.

To ensure stable returns for contributors, the exchange rate between BRP and USDT/USDC for each period should be maintained between 1 $BRP : 2 USDT to 1 $BRP : 3 USDT

Discussed with Leo, I agree with the updates in the whitepaper.
